Over at TechCrunch,
"Yahoo gathered a small group of bloggers, press and others at Sauce in San Francisco tonight to announce the launch of two new RSS products. They have integrated an RSS reader directly into Yahoo Mail Beta, and are expanding Alerts to include RSS feeds."

I think that this is a very good move from Yahoo and I am now eagerly waiting for their new platform. I believe that google missed the chance to push their gmail platform. Instead of launching a separate reader, they should have integrate it within Gmail. If people can spend money for getting integrated RSS feeds in their Email client, why would they not use Gmail for that?

While hanging around Yahoo Research area (http://next.yahoo.com/), I found an interesting search application called Yahoo MindSet. Yahoo Mindset is the classification of your search towards commercial and academic results. By using this, you can have total control over your search results.

" Mindset: Intent-driven Search
A Yahoo! Research demo that applies a new twist on search that uses machine learning technology to give you a choice: View Yahoo! Search results sorted according to whether they are more commercial or more informational (i.e., from academic, non-commercial, or research-oriented sources). "

It is always interesting to know what's coming out from the big three. Check it out.

Detecting lies:
An article at http://www.blifaloo.com/ discusses a very interesting way to detect lies using body movement. Basically it tells about different things that you think based on the direction of your eyes. Not 100% correct though.

"MediaPortal turns your PC in a very advanced Multi-Media Center / HTPC.
It allows you to listen to your favorite music & radio, watch your video's and DVD's, view, schedule and record live TV and much more. You get Media Portal for free/nothing/nada/nopes and best of all it is opensource. This means anyone can help developing Media Portal or tweak it for their own needs! "

What is more interesting to me is that it is built on .NET Framework. Cool

I, as a geek, strive to save every second and every keystroke that I can to make me more productive. As part of that experience, I'll try to share some of the tools that I use in my daily work life. This is the first review in the series where I looked at xplorer2 as an excellent replace for the Windows Explorer.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the company behind xplorer2.

At the moment, SONY.

Read Mark Russinovich analysis of the "DRM" software provided by SONY. Even if you are not interested in the whole issue you will find some pretty nerdy stuff in these articles.

If you think of reading source code, there are not many choices in hand. What we are essentially using now is nothing more than the same text editor that we started using more than 20 years ago. Although the whole coding experience is greatly enhanced because of the IDE and as a matter of fact, it is nearly impossible to use simple notepad for anything more than demos and tutorials. For the last few days, I was trying to find out something better to understand source code. In the end, I wrote something that is built into my mind. Please read about "Visual Source" and comment.
