In the HTML5 spec dev.w3.org/.../Overview.html it is said that autofocus is a boolean attribute. The spec for this dev.w3.org/.../Overview.html says that, regarding a boolean attribute, "its value must either be the empty string or a value that is an ASCII case-insensitive match for the attribute's canonical name, with no leading or trailing whitespace". Therefore, you can have autofocus="autofocus", and so, HTML5 can be like XHTML. I write this, only now, because only recently have I learned HTML5, and my teacher pointed this out.
