Ok...I am an idiot.

I didn't read the warning about not changing any default options...I unselected the C++ and other options.

It worked now....Need that node in red on MSDN ;-)

Well, the drop's the drop - the CTP builds are no longer pre-beta but they still don't go through the quality checks that the full public betas do. I'll try on the comments thing, thanks.

Rogers Cadenhead claimed in a recent blog entry at Workbench that he was able to reduce nearly all comment spam simply by closing all comments after 1 week. Don't know if that would help you...

I have spent 3 hours trying to install it on a fresh XP image using Virtual Server...Cannot even get past the Visual Studio installer...it errors out.

Sounds like this is a nasty drop.

It really helps to have access to CTPs. Or automatically enroll MSDN subscribers to major Betas will be nice too. I found the SQL CTP extremely useful, and the VS 2005 beta usable. From past experience, both SQL and VS's beta are way better than the existing RTM ver. OSes Beta, however, are mostly useless until the RCs.
