NUnitAddIn Install

If you have had problems installing a recent version of NUnitAddIn please contact me. I know some people have had issues and I would really like to get to the bottom of this. The most recent version is NUnitAddIn-0.6.365 and you can find it here.  There have been over 800 downloads of this version and only 1 person has contacted me (thanks Mawi).  The chances are it will work, but if not please let me know!

Almost definitely off topic but... I can't install the add-in with Whidbey. The installer seems to run just fine, but the add-in doesn't appear under the add-in manager.

I always assumed that the add-ins had just changed in Whidbey.

I've tried it on the PDC bits and both the March and May Tech Previews.

I first tried to install while logged in as a non-admin, but running the installer as the local admin. The progress zipped by with no prompting which didn't fill me with confidence, but I can see the NUnitAddIn in Add-in manager. However it is disabled and I cannot check any of the check boxes.

I then tried to install while logged in as the administrator. This time I can check the check boxes fine but start-up doesn't stay checked, so I can't convince the add-in to load for non-admins.

I'm finding exactly the same thing. I can't even get a simple add-in working for a non-admin user. Do you know of any add-ins that do work for non-admins? Maybe I can look at their registry settings and work out how they're doing it.

For the moment it looks like it's an admin only add-in. Sorry. =o(

Hi again,

tried a little more, doesnt want to work. I could probably reinstall my laptop but its a *little* bit too much hassle. :)

Dunno much about VS plugins but CodeTemplate works fine. In my VS setup I use that, Borland Together .NET edition and VA X. Since CodeTemplate is open, maybe there is a hint there? On codeproject.com if you havent checked it out.

Anyhoo. Looking forward to any luck you might have. Works great on my work desktop.

PS To the guy that thought it was funny that I was the only one that had trouble- :-p
You gotta be the "works on mine" type... ;)

Oh, I totally forgot to describe:

1. Install "works" - the "install was succesful" gets written to the eventlog.
2. Icons on the rightclick dont get a hold of the proper resources and are all generic ICO icons.
3. So, the right click menu gets built, it shows up on right click on a test in editor (so that works too), test output window is there but (almost) nothing happens when I opt to run a test.

Actually, it whizzes a little but quickly goes back to just looking back at me, displaying the "Test" text output panel (or whatever one calls it).

Maybe that helps. /mawi

# re: NUnitAddIn Install

Having difficulty installing the Add-In into VS.NET 2002 - is it supported?

The add-in appears, but when I turn it on I get 'The Add-in 'NUnit Add-In' failed to load.....
Error Number: 80131534 - does that mean anything to anyone?

Would upgrade, but we have too many systems to upgrade and are at a critical point in development - shame 2003's project files are not backward compatibal eh!
