Hi Eric,

My name is Gil Zilberfeld, and with my colleague, Roy Osherove, we do a video cast called: <a href="learn.typemock.com/.../episode-3-magic-numbers.html">This week in testing</a>.

We talk a bit about this new feature (and TD.Net) in this episode, so please come and watch. And if you like, talk about us so more people can enjoy.

Thanks,

Gil Zilberfeld

This is the first version of Visual Studio where you can easily compile for different .NET runtimes.

In a future version I will check the runtime version of the compiled assembly like you're doing in Gallio.

As a workaround in the current version, you could add frameworkVersion="v2.0.50727" to the <testRunner name="Debug" .. /> and <testRunner name="RunTests" .. /> elements in '\Program Files\TestDriven.NET 3\TestDriven.dll.config'.

Unfortunately this is a problem for me.

In Gallio, I solved this issue by checking the runtime version of the compiled assembly so that it can start an isolated test host process with the right framework version (using COMPLUS_Version). Unfortunately this doesn't help TestDriven.Net because it is responsible for creating its own test process.

It is now easy to get our Silverlight unittests running in TeamCity, great! All we have to do is specify the exact NUnit version of the modified NUnit-assembly in our MSBuild-script, and TeamCity picks it up.

<NUnitTeamCity Assemblies="@(TestAssemblies)" NUnitVersion="NUnit-2.4.7" />

I am using TeamCity 4.5.5.

It was very experimental at the time. It uses some ilasm / ildasm tricks and I never got around to automating it. I'd be happy to contribute. :)
