Things you should know about the Team System Virtual PC DVD handed at TechEd.
I have not installed it yet but here are a few things I heard about the Team System VPC that was handed out at TechEd this week and that will be available for MSDN subscribers to download some this month:
- First of all, the volume you install the VPC on must be formatted as NTFS. You can use the Convert command to convert a FAT file System to NTFS. For more information on this issue, see Rob Caron's blog.
- The VPC has networking turned on, if you install it on more than one computer in your network you will have an IP address conflict. I think it is configured as a static IP address so you should be able to just go in and change the last byte of the IP address to resolve this issue.
- The password for the account used for the Live Communications Server service has expired. If you try to use it and it doesn't work, now you know what needs to be fixed.
UPDATE (6/15/05): If you read this entry before, I removed the paragraph because SQL Server June CTP can be used for development but not for TFS: http://blogs.msdn.com/graceworld/archive/2005/06/15/429382.aspx
