&lt;p&gt;That is an odd behavor with the root of the site and the ASPNET tab. &amp;nbsp;What you should do is check what it is set at at the website level and make sure that it is set to what you expect.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;VS2003 should run in either version though so my guess is that it's not related to the framework version.&lt;/p&gt;

I am having all sorts of problems when I run a VS2003 site. I have checked the default ASP.NET version by right clicking the root web site folder and it reports my default as being version 1.1 HOWEVER, the path to the version of 1.1 says is given as &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\config\web.config&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;ie from framework 2.0. Is this correct ?&lt;/p&gt;
