A night with Scott Guthrie

Last night was our super user group meeting - guest speaker Scott Guthrie.  He did the ASP.NET Roadshow for us here in Phoenix.  We had more people show for his presentation than DevDays!!!  All went well thanks to our community super-star, Scott Cate.  Also cool to hang out with Dan Wahlin, who admitted to actually reading my blogs.  I urged him to start blogging as well.  Anyway, the samples from the presentation are available at Scotts web site, http://www.scottgu.com.

  • I'm not sure of the exact number, but we ended up with somewhere right around 480 +/- 10.

  • Wow that is a lot! It was a great night. I could have done without the Web Matrix demo, and I can not believe they are still demo'ing code that does not use code behind (I guess we still have to hook the newbies that are coming from php, cf, etc.) However, the Widbey demo was awesome! The only problem, is now I can't wait to get my hands on it, and I am going to want to rewrite several of my applications!!!

  • According to some feedback I received today from some of the attendees, there were many UNREGISTERED people at the event. So the number could have exceeded 500 easily

  • Mike, are the slides under ASP.NET RoadShow Presentation? They look different than what he was using but content is prolly similar.
