Finally i make my first post in my English Blog.

First, let me introduce myself.

I`m a portuguese developer living in Brazil (just until August).

I work with .NET for something like 2 years.

Today, i`m at the brazillian version of the PDC (It started today, it will go until 8th July). My first post is about the event.

First of all, MSDN Brazil had a great iniciative that is called TOP Dev. That iniciative is like a fidellity program that allows the developers to do some tests about .NET and other Microsoft technologies, if you got an approval higher that 80% you will get some points that you can exchange for some books, Trial versions os Visual Studio or Windows 2003 Server.
Well, one product that thay had was the entry to the PDC. Since i had 4000 pts, and the ticket was only 2000 pts i got a "free" entry. :)

I got to the Hotel where the PDC is taking place, whitout major problems, and get in one line to make my chekin in the event. But there was a problem with my enrollment, and the attendant told me to go to the "problem line" (that had already 4 times the size of other lines). I was in this line for more than 40 minutes. All this because the enrollment system of the event doesn`t "talk" with the MSDN Brasil "point exchange system". Soo, all the receptionists where atending with printed lists with the name of all participants. (this is something i don`t understand. Today INTEGRATION is the fashion word, every system should be able to talk with another system. Microsoft is one of the advertisers of this, but in a national event they still use stone age methods. Could some one explain this to me????)

Because of this, i got to the first lecture late. But i think i didn`t lost much. The lecture was about the Imagine Cup that Microsoft is promoting around the world. For those who don`t know, Imagine Cup is kind of a Computer Olympics using Microsoft Technologies. I was very impressed with the size of this iniciative. There was participants of all world (from China to Bulgaria).

After this lecture, i went to the reception to try to get my badge and other stuff. And i was lucky, the line was very small, and i got my stuff really fast. While i was in the line explaining everything to the attendant, my friend Guilherme found some WiFi access points (i don`t know why, but i thought in chalk the carpet in honor to warchalking style). Now with web access i can post here some posts about PDC.

Late this night i will post here some photos of the event :)

Hope everyone enjoy this :)
Paulo Correi
