Architecture Journal 6

Today I received my copy of The Architecture Journal 6, Input for Better Outcomes. This issue contains an article by Jack Greenfield and Mauro Regio on the Design and Implementation of a Software Factory. In this article they share the experience gathered in designing and implementing a software factory for health care systems based on the Health Level Seven (HL7) standard. Thinking of it, we've build our own little Software Factory producing Manufacturing Execution System based on the BatchML and B2MML implementations of the ISA-88 and ISA-95 standards.

  • In this post, Paul Gielens mentions the article "Design and Implement a Software Factory" published with the new issue of the Architecture Journal magazine.

The article describes Microsoft’s progress in developing a proof of concept of a factory in the healthcare domain. It is definitely worth a read, particularly if you are (as I am) struggling to find a real, or at least realistic, example of a factory schema...

  • I'm glad the article is giving some hope... :-)

I'd be interested to know more about the Manufacturing Execution Systems Paul mentioned.

And, I'd like to hear the struggle with the schema...

We may have some new ideas and tools...
