ADO.NET vNext will not be included in .NET Framework 3.0
Ever since Microsoft announced ADO.NET 3.0 and changed the name to ADO.NET vNext we've been speculating whether the next generation data access technology would make its appearance in the .NET Framework 3.0.
Pablo Castro today posted in the forums: ADO.NET vNext will not be included in .NET 3.0. That's why we're just calling it "vNext" for now.
