.NET Framework Versioning

Consumers of the .NET Framework more and more question the reasoning behind .NET Framework versioning. Microsoft's decision to rename WinFX to the .NET Framework 3.0 stir up quit a bit of confusion. My post in which I mentioned that the ADO.NET vNext will not be included in the .NET Framework 3.0 caused the same effect.

Jason Zander's gives a great explanation (Channel 9) on how .NET Framework versioning actually works and what is means for shipping innovative enhancements like ADO.NET vNext. Thanks Jason, for taking the time to help clear up many of our questions! Talk back to Jason with your questions and feedback.
