MSFeedsSync - feeds Synchronization has stopped working issue
Sunday, August 03, 2008 9:59 PM
Recently (and quite randomly I might add), I had an error dialog popup continuously, every 5-10 minutes which read: " MSFeeds Synchronization has stopped working (2054)" It was driving me crazy and was unsure how to resolve. There is actually not that much on the net about but this post got me going in the right direction. Basically, I first disabled the service... Read More...

ASP.NET Podcast Show #118 - Peer-To-Peer with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
Friday, June 20, 2008 9:20 AM
So I *finally* managed to get a videocast/podcast done. Wally has been harassing me for ages, and I eventually had the time to get one done. This one is on the Peer to Peer support in Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and how easy it is to do. Its remarkably simple yet extremely powerful. I hope you enjoy it. Subscribe to EVERYTHING <-- What you REALLY... Read More...

WCF and interoperability
Sunday, December 16, 2007 9:04 PM
I was trying to create an endpoint using WCF that was to look almost identical to an existing endpoint hat was created using some java tools (we were creating a new .Net app and had to mimic some older endpoints). The endpoint seemed ok at first glance according to the WSDL so I generated a client from it using the SVCUTIL.EXE tool and was going to use the interface... WCF Beta Exam
Sunday, December 02, 2007 8:17 PM
I took the opportunity to sit the WCF Beta exam a few days ago and I must say, it was very hard. Being beta, I don't find out the results until about 8 weeks later, but I reckon I didn't fare too well. I did book the test a little impulsively, however I saw the opportunity to do it, and only had a free day to do the test that was a few days later than when I... Read More...

I haven't used Liquid XML in some time and had forgotten how good value this little tool is. XML editing, instance document generation, schema validation and more, XPath query tool, all for free. The schema document visualisation is really strong too. Awesome tool, and hats off to Liquid Technologies for making such an awesome tool available free to use. Thanks... Read More...
Outlook 2007 - Just fix it - My Rant
Sunday, November 04, 2007 5:30 PM
Warning: Rant to follow: Ok, I know Outlook 2007 is a complicated piece of software. I know its gone through a whole series of revisions. Could I make a better piece of software? Well I'd like to think so, but the people at Microsoft are smart people so it could be debatable. What I do know? Outlook 2007 is significantly less stable for me than Outlook 2003 ever... Obscure ASP.NET Problem - AJAX Control Toolkit, CollapsiblePanelExtender, Image controls pages loading more than once....
Sunday, September 09, 2007 10:05 PM
Had an issue on a current project where a page was being loaded twice for each request, although it was a little different for each browser. Under IE, this particular page was loaded, then the 'Default.aspx' page in the same directory was loaded. In Firefox, the same page was loaded twice. This was verified by simply placing breakpoints in the Page_Load events... Read More...
RSS Feeds in Outlook 2007 - Part 2. Bye bye Outlook
Tuesday, September 04, 2007 11:08 PM
The other day, I posted about my issues with Outlook 2007 and its handling of my RSS feeds. I tried a number of things to fix it, the latest effort being to export all my feeds, delete all of them from Outlook, then re-import. Didn't work, dates were still all wrong. I have to say I am very disappointed. I enjoyed the convenience of having my feeds in Outook... Read More...
RSS Feeds in Outlook 2007 not working
Saturday, September 01, 2007 3:14 PM
There have been many posts bemoaning the RSS support in Outlook 2007 and I generally agree, however the convenience of having it nicely searchable in Outlook 2007 is a massive bonus for so I have lived with all the other issues. However, lately all my feeds have stopped updating. I looked at this post but all seemed ok on my system. All services running and registry... Read More...
