Chef 'suicide' after critics' attack

One of France's most celebrated chefs has apparently committed suicide after his flagship restaurant was downgraded in a top restaurant guide.

Bernard Loiseau was found dead at his country home, a hunting rifle by his side.

His death came a week after the renowned GaultMillau restaurant guide cut its rating for his Cote d'Or restaurant in Burgundy.

I am bit upset and very sad about this. I met Bernard Loiseau in his restaurant few years ago, as he like to talk to his customers.
I don't know if the medias are not a bit too strong about the GaultMillau story, but it's true that this chef was under an enormous pressure and apparently he didn't have holidays for many years.

I was watching here on TV in Ireland some documentary about Jamie Oliver, the so famous TV cook in England, who decide to open a restaurant. It's actually unbelievable to see how much stress they can take, from the staff, on the financial aspect.

So it's really sad to see someone who fought so much about the junk food culture (not only american but french !) disappear.
