UK hosting

Julie replied to my recent blog on UK hosting:

Except for the desire to "buy local" which is very strong indeed for me, why limit yourself to the UK for hosting? I use a host that is far away in northern (I think) Canada. But their rates are great, their level of expertise is awesome and their service is fantastic. Ok - I should do them a nice favor - it's Alentus. But the point is, you can use any host right? Unless this is for your big national school project - then I can understand the importance of using a "local" host.

Julie, the issue is not so easy, it's not only having the hosting in US or Canada. My clients liked to have their websites close to them.

Other thing, due to some timezone problem, it's far more easy to have the websites in UK than in Toronto ;-)
I know I work 24 hours a day, but I need some sleep sometime as an human being.

the worst is also Irish customers, they really want an Irish domain name, but the problem is that here in this country, it's about 3 or 4 times the price you can expect in UK.
