Microsoft Book store

New website by Microsoft. Microsoft BookStore is surely a good idea.

You can find there all sort of Microsoft related books, and when you want to buy, they send you through a click to Amazon.com.

I think they should have a link to list all the new publications, this would be useful to check on new books. At the moment it seems to be just a good use of the Amazon web service.

New book RSS feed would seem a pretty obvious addition!

I complained to them last week that their sorting by date was broken (simple string sorting, years-within-months instead of months-within-years), which greatly reduces the usefullness of the website. I got a prompt reply back that they would fix it in a few days.

I also suggested being able to sort by descending date, so that users could easily see new books. They didn't say if they were going to implement that or not. Thus, it might be a good idea to give them feedback.

I basically told them that sort by descending date would be the most frequently search criteria, and that Amazon and B&N both already had implemented it... making their website useless unless they implemented it... Hopefully, the argument has swayed them.

(I didn't mention an RSS feed to them. Again, give them feedback!)
