Windows Workflow - I want to use it *now*

I'm an avid reader of Mike Taulty's blog, and even though I don't understand a lot of what he's talking about I really enjoy reading it.

Mike's recently been blogging extensivly about Workflow and I really want to use it in Production apps but I can't because they're live machines yadda yadda.

I WANNA USE IT NOW !

Doesn't Windows Workflow support a go-live license?

Thanks,

It's more that there's no way I can (or am willing to) get the client to install .NET 3 on their production boxes ;-)

Too much "could" go wrong. :-)

Haha -- fair enough.

The good news is that the final release isn't too far off. :-)

I'm in the enviable position of being able to specify whatever I want for our next-gen product - so the hosting issue is non-existant so long as go-live licenses exist.

The biggest problem I've got is trying to explain what benefits the technology will give within the framework of the product to the non-developers, and coming up with real-world samples for the developers in my team to use as baseline worked examples!

Of the former, saying that I can attach "code workflow" (I have to call it that 'cos the product's already got inbuilt "workflow") to any method on any entity works well for both audiences, even if the example ends up being just the traditional "send an email to the manager and wait for him/her to respond" workflow.

My other problem is that I'm about as desperate to use LINQ in production code as Plip is to use WF - even to the point of offering to do the Oracle provider port! *G*

Anyway - do you think WF is a candidate for a VBUG presentation in Stockport, Plip?
