Will Zune Zoom or Chug?

Enders Analysis have done some research and are predicting that Zune will not even shift a million units in the Christmas quarter.

http://www.endersanalysis.com/publications/publication.aspx?id=368

They state the unit will not be a competitor for iPod market share, the online marketplace is poor in comparison to the iTunes store and the Zune is of "little interest" to the markets!

Ouch!

Big surprise there... Considering how it was announced and how it's being marketed those far.

If you want to compete with the market leader, you have to be at least as good as their are and then some more. That includes both, product and marketing and often, brilliant marketing can sell a crappy product (ie ipod shuffle).

In the end, it doesnt matter how good Zune is... Odds are Microsoft marketing will bury it. US only launch for Xmas? Useless wi-fi?

is zune dead? said:

Well it has been a few years since the launch and Zune is still here albeit more about the ecosystem than the actual zune hardware devices and although it never killed the ipod it sure did kill all other devices with little to no real competition available in the market now. Do you think zune is dead?
