ASP Insiders Summit, Days -3, -2 and -1
Here am I sitting in my hotel room in Redmond, it's day -1 of the Summit (i.e. It doesn't start until tomorrow).
The flight over was really good, however there was a load of turbulance, the drinks trolley even had to retreat to the safety of the galley it got so bad - oh and I broke the table, it really did "come off in me 'and guv".
On arriving in Seattle airport (Summit day -3) I picked up my luggage, then Dave Sussman and I headed up to Redmond to the hotel. Red Robin burgers for our supper then to bed for some well earned sleep.
On Sunday (Summit day -2) we met up with Christoph Wille with the full intention of going out shopping together, however Dave and I became seperated and we didn't see him all day. We went downtown Seattle for a wander and some Fish 'n Chips which is always welcome. We even found time to do some touristy stuff and we went on the underground tour of the old city which was utterly fascinating, well worth taking out a couple of hours to do if you're in Seattle and into history and engineering. On returning we met up with Ryan and his friend as well as Wally McClure for a nice steak and a natter.
This morning we (Dave and Wally) wandered down to the local starbucks for a coffee where we set the world to rights. Whilst we were sitting there Steve B wandered in and bought a coffee, he drives a Chelsea tractor (Range Rover - Black) and talks on his mobile whilst he's driving, another of these people that can probably afford (24th richest person in the world, with an estimated wealth of $13.6 billion.) a bluetooth headset but he'd rather run over small children instead of buying one. Today is the first day of any kind of work, there are a bunch of meetings arranged with various members of product groups in Microsoft we're going to see.
Lots' of the other guys are getting in today so hopefully this evening we'll all get together and have a bit of a chin wag.
P.S. I am concerned the Summit is 0 based ... I really should get out more.
