Are Microsoft making a mistake with Gadgets?
There's an "interesting" post over on Neowin about Gadget development on Windows Vista . In general I agree with the post, however I think that the author has jumped the gun - Gdget development is very young, it doesn't have IDE support...

IIS 7 Managed Module Starterkit
The IIS team have put together and about time - IIS has for too long been a dirty word, IIS 6 is the best web server platform I've ever used and IIS 7 is better! Included on the site is the following Starter kit.
