Vrrrrrrrrooooooooooooom

The APARTMENT listed is what my machine was before I started tweaking.  It's a 2100+ running at about a 2700+ right now, with a slight voltage increase to get the 166mhz FSB.  Now to play around with the memory.  I believe the stuff *should* be a PC2700, so it technically should have no problem with 166mhz.  But I was having problems running at that speed earlier.  Perhaps the problem was related to not running at the same speed as the FSB.  Who knows.  For now, I'm downloading VS.NET 2003 Beta to install on this machine (only 30hrs left!) so there will be no restarts.

Hey Greg, get yourself a gig of RAM.  Be a man about it!  Oh, if you are curious most of my .NET courses require a 768mb of RAM.  VS.NET, IIS, SQL Server and Windows 2000 advanced server.  I personally have never gotten the thing to consume more than 400mb of space at a time in a classroom, and when I did I was taxing ASP.NET and (mostly) SQL Server pretty heavily.  What they SHOULD require is 19" monitors.

Simcity 4 is playing pretty smooth too.  The city of PhilVille is a cesspool of traffic. Right now I'm trying railroads to help traffic, but right now most people are too far from the stations to care.

I contend any good developer would gladly work at the place that does the timing of street lites and help design good on ramps.  I mean, who wouldn't have fun doing that?
