Great Mistakes in Technical Leadership

I somehow ended up here when I was searching some good articles on Technical Leadership. The article is definitely worth reading. There's also a free E-Book available here.

These points (mistakes) that I completely agree (and have seen in past) committed by other leaders in the past:

  • Assuming the team serves you
  • Isolating yourself from the team
  • Not providing technical direction and context
  • Failing to delegate effectively
  • Failing to represent the best interests of your team
  • Failing to anticipate
  • Using the project to pursue your own technical interests
  • Playing the game rather than focusing on the target
  • Putting the project before the people

Hope this is helpful to you!
