Off Topic: Buy.com Customer Service Phone

<RANT_BUYDOTCOM>

I'm very surprised to notice that there's no (absolutely no) phone number listed for the customer service on the web site. How the hell am I supposed to "talk" to somebody about my order. Given the popularity of the web site, one would think that there will be more ways to contact them than just by "Email", no?

Finally, Google search for the customer service number came to rescue. The contact number is 800-800-0800.

Using the Community News tag forced this post to appear on the home page of the http://weblogs.asp.net site.  Please do not use that tag for off-topic rants like this.  When I visit the ASP.NET weblogs home page or read its posts in my feed reader I am expecting to see only ASP.NET content.

Thank you for the phone number. I have had a terrible experience with them and will never buy there again. I think this is why they don't post the number and I emailed them twice and have never received a response back. THEY SUCK!

I couldn't agree more with Nancy.  They do suck.  I placed an order through them on Dec 12th for a DVD which was supposed to come from Movie Web.  I paid for standard shipping.  It had more than enough time to get here before Christmas.  I sent 2 emails to Movie Web - no response.  I emailed Buy.com - no response.  I am now on interminable hold with Buy.com's customer service center. But at least there is a phone number - so thank you for that.  Don't buy from Buy.com or Movie Web( movieweb.com).  They'll take your money but you won't get anything for it.

Just cancelled my order calling the phone # above, Thanks. Could not get email response to my inbox or spam folder (email). They never informed me about any backorder status, nor is it listed as not in stock on the item page. You might steer clear of buy.com and get the product faster and with better communication.

I received the wrong DVD (not even close in title) in 3 business days (std shipping), got quick response to do a return, but have absolutely received zero response from them in my many attempts to contact them (both buy.com and movieweb.com) over 1 month trying to get this corrected - until today - you will all laugh at this....  I posted negative feedback on Buy.com - MovieWeb.com contacted me the very next day and said

"Hello,

Upon processing your order for re-shipment we have found that we received negative feedback from you for this transaction.  It is our policy to not re-ship items while negative feedback has been left due to the fact that we could received a reversal of funds for this transaction.

I totally agree with everyone!! I have ordered several items from Buy and they are always slllllloooooooooooow. Until recently, that's the ony problem I've had with them. I used a new card, and they placed my order on hold because THEY said my shipping and billing address didn't match. I checked with my bank to make sure everything was correct. It was. So, I re-entered all the info, per Buy's request, and still...they said it was wrong. I finally gave them the customer service number to my bank and they finally released my purchase. Why should I have to go through such a hassle to give them my business?? And especially when all I can do is send e-mails! So, I praise the person who found their phone number....watch out Buy.com!!! Let's get 'em  ya'all!!!

I had trouble looking for the number as well! Thank goodness for this site. I've had good experience with buy.com. Last time I ordered an item it said shipment from 7-9 days, I received it in 3 days from the day I ordered it! Althought customer service number was hard to find, majority of the reps are not so bad

Thanks for posting the number. My first and last order from buy.com has been unbelievable!  I placed an order on 9-8-09, paid for it through paypal, then got no response from anyone.I emailed buy.com and got an email saying my order was cancelled and my credit card would not be charged. DUH!!  I quickly emailed them back stating how instantly the money was removed from my bank account, that no credit card was involved and I still have not recieved a refund. I plan on contacting the BBB.  Any other suggestions?  I will never go to this site again.
