Silverlight UI Creation

We’ve been looking to get a short-term Silverlight UI person (with of course a little experience integrating  C#/Web Service experience) and I don’t know why it’s so hard to find a candidate. Like people who do Flash/Flex/ActionScript based web designing, why aren’t that many people doing the same for Silverlight? All we want, is, somebody to create nice XAML pages based on the wire-frames, etc.

Is Silverlight not reached there yet? Or is it still very hard to make a very beautiful UI that people (flashy UI web designers) do not preferred to work on it?

Hi,

I guess the good effective (productive) silverlight exposed candidates are already working on some assignments.

The rest have a lot of catching up to do.

Quality professionals in Niche Area are always hard to find.

They teach Flash in schools, not Silverlight. Microsoft should do a better job reaching out to the eduction institutes. That is the only way it will change.

Personally, I just think that there hasn't been enough time. Silverlight is still growing quite a bit. I think Silverlight just needs more large-scale adopters. Netflix has done quite a bit to push Silverlight out there with their awesome interface. We just need to see more adoption, then we'll see the 'good' Silverlight developers all over the place. They teach Java in schools, but how many .NET developers are there out there? It's all about timing.
