Icannot seem to find out how to manipulate the DOM,or edit any html with IE developer toolbar???

FF firebug, is basically double click on the element and boom , your editing.

i love this tool from ie.

since i got this tool, i stop using ff's web developer addons and never go back!!!

i still love ff and use it a lot more than ie on daily base b/c it give me a lot of useful addons which ie lack of.

but when it come to work i found my self stick with this tool from ie.

next, can somebody make an addons or whatever allow us run ie6 on vista? please! (not Virtual PC)

or i will just have to go back to xp

I think the point Randy is making for this blog post is that he recognizes there may be other tools out there... probably better than the IE Developer Toolbar, but he is commenting how much it has saved time for him--not how its BETTER than any other tool. He then goes on to say HOW it saves him. I still do not see him putting down any other tools.

With that said, I use pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I use the IE Developer Toolbar for a few reasons... 1) it's better than nothing. 2) Sometimes, Firebug is overkill and slows down my development, especially when I just want to edit the DOM, not sift through my AJAX calls. 3) Sometimes my problems are IE specific, and I need such a tool to help me.

Thanks for reminding the programming world of this generally looked-over tool.

Well said but yet another waste of space. My last comment was merely that adults don't tend to sling children’s comments around. Those that know me know I am very opinionated; I also try not to take life too seriously and joke around a bit (a bit too much some might say).

My other point seems wasted with you and that is okay. I do however test my sites, especially public facing sites in IE, Firefox and Opera. My tools have not let me down yet; when they do I am sure I will expand on them.

On the other hand, I won't sit here and bash your choice of tools since they suite you quite nicely. It's always a personal choice in these matters. I just wish some of the Firefox zealots would mature to the point where they don't feel they have to come to MS centric sites and bash those who don't give a rip about the negative comments. If they were informative, say a feature by feature rundown and why the tools can add value then great, but I rarely see anything remotely informative about them, it's more the schoolyard antics of my Tonka truck is better than yours kind of comment.

It is humorous though so I don't dare delete them. I like a good laugh during the day. As long as no one is abusive or using foul language then life is good.
