MSN AI, A slight upgrade...

If you took the time to add anika@mscorlib.com to your MSN, and attempted to have a conversation with her you probably noticed that she informed you that she had a headache most of the time.  This was because whenever I couldn't connect to the AI I defaulted the response to the headache response.

I decided to upgrade the AI to the full Program D from AliceBot.org which I have had lying around for a few years now.  Give her a second chance, she is much more intelligent now.

I was also considering having her initiate conversations.  Every hour she would pick one person (at random) out of her contact list which she would send a random hello message too.  Something like "I'm bored, you busy?".  What do you think?  Right now she has over 60 people added to her list so the odds of her annoying any one person would be quite low.

One last idea I had was for her to use MSN more realistically.  Typically when you have a conversation with someone the "Talking" event is fired off to the other party and their MSN client states that the other person is typing a message.  I'm sure you've noticed that.  Well in the case of Anika since she actually doesnt type anything the event is never raised.  I plan on doing something simple like calculate the length of the response (number of letters) and divide that by like 10, and wait that number of seconds before actually sending the text.  Much more realistic I think.
