Final BOF Session Times (and Rooms) Posted

MS just finalized everything for the BOF Sessions at PDC. This year, I'm running 2 marathon back-to-back sessions. We'll start off Monday evening with a conversation about how to start building ASP.NET 2.0 features into ASP.NET 1.X Server Controls, and right after that we'll talk about everything blogs that is developer-related. Here are the official write-ups:

VS.NET Whidbey: The Future of Server Controls
Track: Birds of a Feather   Code: BoF33
Room: Room 406AB   Time Slot: Mon, October 27 9:00 PM-10:00 PM
With the advent of VS.NET Whidbey, Microsoft is changing the way people think about programming. Whidbey includes over 40 new controls that wrap extremely advanced functionality without having to write a single line of code. Control writers do not have to wait for Whidbey to accomplish the same objective. In this BOF session, Interscape Technologies, Infragistics, ComponentOne, DeveloperExpress, XHEO, and others will use their market expertise and real-world experience to lead a round-table discussion on how best to direct the control vendor industry into this new direction. This can be accomplished simply by building Whidbey programming techniques into .NET 1.X controls. If you're server control vendor, you'll want to be at this session. Don't get left behind, start planning for Whidbey today! Host: Robert McLaws.

Weblogging: The Future of Conversational Software
Track: Birds of a Feather   Code: BoF09
Room: Room 404AB   Time Slot: Mon, October 27 10:00 PM-11:00 PM
By now, you're probably familiar with weblogging to some extent. What you may not have known is the extent that blogging is used inside Microsoft. In this BOF session, the heavyweights of the blogosphere will chair a discussion on where blogging is at and where it's headed. Where does .NET fit into all this? Can we expect any blogging services from MSN? What about bloging with the newest version of Sharepoint? Come join the fun and find out. We'll also be talking about the role of RSS and/or Atom, aggregators, the integration of weblogging gesture with other software, and much more! Park your butt and bring your ideas... It's guaranteed to be intense, so make sure you're there! Host: Robert McLaws.

Slated to appear at the Weblogger BOF (commence name dropping): Clemens Vasters (dasBlog), Scott Watermasysk (.Text), Greg Reinacker (Newsgator), Drew Robbins (PDCBloggers.net), and Me (LonghornBlogs.com). I heard that someone who calls himself a “Human Aggregator“ may be there too, but as far as I can tell, it's only a rumor.

It's shaping to be a very exciting, very busy, and probably very tiring week. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and shooting the proverbial poo. T-minus 6 days and counting!
