I'm really glad you liked the book. Practical is definitely what I was shooting for. I think the leadership part is also important, but a very different kind of topic. Do you have any favorites on team leadership?

Thanks,

Patrick

I think your explanations are too off-the-cuff and don't really add value. For example when explaining "Pragmatic Programmers" book you said you basically liked it because it's black cover and it's for "teaching to be a pragmatic programmer" ... really?

Contrary to Brian, I would have prefered the recommendations in written form (blog post) and think a video is not well suited for this. It would be much easier to search and find the reviews and to re-visit them later (e.g. for reference) if they were in text.

Show me a tool I can use to do type checking, refactoring (without type checking refactoring becomes virtually impossible), code completion.

Compiling means capturing errors up front! Having no type checking means virtually anything can go in, without knowing what will come out.

Scriptsharp should be updated more often, I miss some C# 3.5 code constructs, which could simplify code significantly : anonymous objects, object initializers etc. I tried contacting the author, but for several months he does not respond anymore to any of my questions...

One suggestion -- in the video you move back and forth a lot. That works well in a class or speaking environment, but on the video it is pretty distracting (your head gets visibly bigger and smaller, and moves around the frame).
