Registry Cleaners

Here's a cool freeware that made my life easier: Registry Explorer

Just install it and voila! you get a "registry" root inside windows explorer and you browse the registry just like a regular folder including "Find" and , most importantly, "Favorites"! Yay!

I've not used Registry Explorer, but Advanced System Optimizer rocks. I'd used other 'clean up your machine' programs, as well as registry "optimizers" and "cleaners" before, but none did as thorough a job (IMO) as ASO:

Update: I just re-read this post, and I realized it sounds like I don't comprehend that Registry Explorer and Advanced System Optimizer are supposed to do different things. Roy's comment just made me think of other registry-related programs, and I wanted to share ASO with all y'all.

Registry cleaners scan the PC registry and delete outdated entries that are not in use anymore and remove faulty uninstall process. Moreover also detect and remove the embedded keys that are generated in the registry by malware programs like Trojans, viruses and spyware etc.
