Television on DVDs

If not for the DVDs, I never would have gotten in to "24" or "Alias". There's also "The Apprentice", whose first season was recently released on DVD for about $41.

My question to all is this. Why, if all these other shows are released for between $30 and $45, does Paramount charge $100 for Star Trek? I would TOTALLY buy The Next Generation and Voyager if it were $45, but the $100 price tag just makes me not want to buy it.

Does anyone else think these Star Trek TV shows are WAY too highly priced?

I totally agree, here in Canada the Trek sets are $120 (Canadian) while, all others like Highlander, Babylon 5 and others are routinely in the $75 range, totally overpriced. In this price range, they've alienated a routine box-set purchaser like me...

yea, they are high. Though I'm a sucker for star trek, so i've bought all seven seasons of tng and ds9. I plan to get the 3 seasons of TOS next. I would have already gotten VOY, my wife and i caught it in its first season on UPN so we just watched it thorough (thank God for TIVO!) anyway, in the end i'll end up getting voyager too - there's just something about saying i have every episode of star trek =) (yea, i dont have the animated series...but they dont count since they arn't generally included in star trek cannon)

They CAN charge $100 (and sell lots of copies), but look at all the business they're turning AWAY because of it.

It's because they have to make the money back when they (OVER) paid the actors millions of dollars.

You didn't watch the first season of the apprentince? I remember at Universal hearing you talk about Donald Trump and how you were interested in real estate. I'm looking forward to the apprentince 2!
