I just had a need to send a large photoshop file. It's 17 meg, not too large, but just large enough to be a pain in the behind. After a little searching, I found Transfer Big Files.com.
You upload a file from a web interface, and supply one or many email addresses. Once the file is uploaded, an email is sent to the addresses you supplied, letting them know the file is available for download.
This is so much easier then trying to get a non-technical person (or even a tech person for that matter) in and out of an FTP client.
