TransferBigFiles.com - So easy to use

I just received 6 emails, from the same person for a ~13 meg file. The 6 emails all had split zips, each with about a 2 meg file. So now I have to save all the zip files in the same place, and hope that my zip util (currently WinRar [which rocks]) can stitch them back together. But in this case file.zo3, had a CRC error, so the whole file transfer is bad.

I think email attachments are great, but should be limited to 1 meg or smaller. Anything else, should be sent over http or FTP. The problem is that both of those are more complicated for the average user.

The solution can be to upload your large file to a website, and then send a link to the file for download to your recipient. www.TransferBigFiles.com is run by Axosoft (a local Arizona company) and has never failed me. It's easy to use, for both the sender and the recipient. I'm sure there are other solutions, but this has worked well fro me 100's of times. This is all web based, there is nothing to install on either end to use the service.

Oh ya, I almost forgot, it's free :)

In a world of ad infested click here sites (megaupload et al) and the more and more restricted sites such as the original yousendit, this one looks really nice.

"I don't get it. No storage limits and it's Free! What's in it for you?

As the site grows in popularity, we expect to make money from advertising to cover the costs and then some. In the meantime, Axosoft LLC is covering all the costs."

So far, so good.. 2GB uploads, and Axosoft is a reputable company.. awesome man!

Thanks for the write-up, Scott!  Ease-of-use and a straightforward UI are two of the biggest driving forces behind TransferBigFiles.com.

Some of your readers might also be interested in the DropZone client, a small dock app we developed to help make file sharing through TransferBigFiles.com even easier.  It's a very simple drag'n'drop interface with a small footprint.

Right now, we're working on some pretty cool stuff for PhotoDrop.com.  It's a close cousin of TransferBigFiles.com that makes creating and sharing photo albums a breeze.  No account necessary, but you do get some additional features, like album management, when you do sign up.

Thanks, again!
