Free ASP.NET MVP Live Online Chat Tonight

Ryan Olshan and StrongCoders have helped put together a great ASP.NET live web chat for later tonight.  It includes an all-star cast of MVP experts to field questions (I'll be there too to help answer questions).

You can join us from 8-9pm EST (5-6 PM US West Coast Time) tonight to participate.  Details can be found on Ryan's post here, and on the MSDN Chat Center.

Hope to see you there,

Scott

P.S. Apologies for the 150+ unanswered comments on my blog this week.  I was taken out by the flu the last few days and haven't been online.  I will post the comments and respond this weekend.

Scott,

This is great news! Something I have been asking for a while (http://weblogs.asp.net/rajbk/archive/2005/11/06/429711.aspx).

Hope you guys hold more of these.

Thanks!

hello

I been programming for embedded systems and desktop apps (delphi). however, i currently started web development using asp and c#, but i seems lost in it. i've seen all the msdn videos but sometimes i spends endless hours figuring out how to do something as simple as adding item to a drop down list after databind. what books do you recommend? the msdn help seems to work when you know the method to read about but in my case, i had no idea of the insert method till asked a college.

any help is appreciated..

Hi Bit,

This page has a number of good ASP.NET books I'd recommend: http://www.asp.net/resources/books/default.aspx?tabid=41

This book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0672328232/varioussite07-20 and http://www.amazon.com/Professional-ASP-NET-Special-Bill-Evjen/dp/0470041781/diabeticbooks/varioussite07-20 are good core references.

This book then does a good job of putting things together: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0764584642/varioussite07-20

This is then a really good beginner's book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0672327384/varioussite07-20

Hope this helps,

Scott
