LIDNUG Online Chat with Me on Thursday Feb 11th

Today we opened up the VS 2010 RC for everyone to download.  You can download it here.  Jason Zander (who runs the Visual Studio team) has a good blog post that summarizes a lot of common questions about it here.

As I mentioned in my blog post about the RC on Monday, please send me email (scottgu@microsoft.com) about any bugs or issues you encounter – that way I can make sure to connect you with someone who can follow up and investigate them quickly.

Online Chat with Me Thursday February 11th at 10am PST

I’m doing a virtual webcast chat Thursday February 11th from 10am to 11:30am (PST timezone).  The chat is open to everyone and sponsored by the LIDNUG user group.  The format of the chat is open - and you can ask anything while you listen in as I try and answer as many questions as possible.  I expect I’ll spend a lot of time talking about VS 2010, .NET 4, Silverlight 4, ASP.NET 4 and ASP.NET MVC 2.

You can register and attend the chat for free here.

February 14th Update: You can download the audio version of my chat here.

Hope this helps,

Scott

Is there a way to work on a project using ASP.NET MVC v1 with Visual Studio 2008 at work and Visual studio 2010 RC at home ? Currently when I load the solution, the web project is excluded.

Web installer is missing!

That was the UBER feature of the previous release.

we are selecting plataform and develop tools to initiat a internal and customize ERP to replace our old legacy system based in Progress Plattaform...

We'd like to use VS2008 to create ASP.NET + SQL apps/DBs in our company.

Should i use the new version of VS2010? Or is too soon, and the better way is waiting to fix all issues and bugs on VS2010?

Tks...

Roberto

I too wonder about 2010 getting in the way of 2008. I have 2008 at work as does everyone I work with. I would love to have 2010 but for now that would only be on my home development environment. Can you open 2008 websites in 2010? What is the real skinny on upgrading? A lot of things that MS says that sound good sometimes don't pan out. I'm cooking full bore with 2008. I'd hate to become a Scott Hanselmann or Jeff Atwood spending all my time troubleshooting new stuff :)
