I just finished your tutorial, I rarely leave comments but had to this time. Great job and thanks for leaving it out there for us. I had the same issue than you. Comparing the my code with the downloaded scott's one, i noticed this extra line in SearchBtn_Click function :

diggService.Headers.Add("user-agent", "Silverlight Sample App");

If i have well understood, this add something non empty to the user-agent field in the http header's resquest. Normally this field contains the browser engine supported when you run a request from a web browser.
