Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 & SQL Server 2005 Beta 2

If you plan a side-by-side installation of Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 & SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 you have to follow these steps (identified by Klaus Aschenbrenner):

  1. Installing Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1
  2. Uninstall .NET Framework 2.0 Beta 1 and J# Redistributable Package (shipped with Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1)
  3. Install prerequisites of SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 (including the .NET Framework compatible with SQL Server 2005 Beta 2)
  4. Install SQL Server 2005 Beta 2

The installation of VS.NET first is necessary due to different .NET Framework 2 versions.

I just install the updated .NET Framework, and Yukon first, the VS.NET 2005, seems to work fine.
