A few years ago my web page bases on pure, hand-coded HTML. But it was too static and I couldn't switch the design easily. I switched to PHP, ASP.NET etc. writing a custom application supporting templates. But time went on and everybody supported RSS feeds, so I was looking for a weblog engine. First, I took the Movable Type which was very fine but it wasstill not my technology of choice. Then, I moved to dasBlog ... until this weekend.
The problem is that I don't need a weblog engine! What I really need is a small CMS -but- with a fat client interface please!
I remembered that Joel Spolsky is selling CityDesk (http://www.fogcreek.com/CityDesk/), a small but fine "offline" CMS. Moreover, there is a cost free Starter Edition for sites less than 50 files. Great, downloaded - here it is! It took about an hour to learn "all" the features. One of the greatest features is the multilingual support!
CityDesk really is a great tool!!
