Match.com on ABC prime time documentary "Hooking Up"

Match.com (my employer for the last 5 years)  is being featured as one of the tools that 11 women use on ABC prime time to find dates online.  It's a mini series called "Hooking up" that's on Thursday's at 8:00 PM CST.

It's incredibly surreal to see a site that you helped build from the ground up in C# and ASP.NET being used in a real life documentary on prime time.  Currently our web farm gets over 45 million page hits per day and we have over 15 million members, all searching for love.  We are seeing some pretty good traffic spikes after the series runs and the web farm doesn't skip a beat.  I'll talk to the systems guys and see if I can post some more numbers...

On a side note, I got new glasses today and the lady that I bought them from told me her best friend just got married to a guy she met on Match.com...just another reason why my job is so fulfilling.

Hi there -- found you via lockergnome, and felt I had to comment.

Just wanted to let you know -- I met my husband on match.com 9 1/2 years ago, and we'll be married 9 years in November. :) We always meant to mail in a success story, but never did.

Shane,

A former coworker of mine, who seemingly had soured on men after a bad marriage, apparently decided men were not so icky again after meeting and marrying a person she met on Match.com. Pretty amazing use of technology.

One of my buddies is engaged to someone he met on match.com. :)

Thanks for the great feedback. I've been at Match for a while now and it just keeps getting better. It's a great place to meet people, and the people behind the technology are genuinely motivated to make it a place that facilitates matching people up.
