For All "Intents and Purposes" -- not "Intensive Purposes"

This one always gets me.  I was watching a webcast yesterday, and the presenter (mis)used this phrase far too often!  In light of this, I though I'd share some links to more on this "phrase".

YES! Finally, someone in the programming world who gives a flying fig about language use.. though I don't remember hearing this particular abomination before. How about a "doggy dog" (instead of dog-eat-dog) world? Or those people that hyphenate everything regardless of context ("Take two-thirds of a cup...") or the ever-present war on correct apostrophe use? There are too many of these to count, and most of them -- shamefully enough -- come from so-called native English speakers. I actually feel a little bit better now; thanks for the rant space.
