I did not know about the importance of PDB files until I read this article. John Robbins wrote about how every developer must know about this PDB files in detail here

I was wondering how to create a custom email alert event handler in Sharepoint and was landed on this KB article which clearly explains how to do that. Like any good student, I ignored the rule and modified the alertTemplates.xml directly and found that it is not working and so please make sure not to edit alertTemplates.xml directly as mentioned!!
