Today, we have launched www.mugh.net (Microsoft User Group, Hyderabad).
As of today we have got nearly 900 members from various product groups including Windows Installer 2.0.
Cool ! Yesterday I got my PDC bits DVD box (Whidbey, LH).
It took around 45 minutes to install on a new partition of my XP box. [2.4 Ghz, 512 MB DDR, 64 MB GeForce II ]
I got to wait 2 minutes to see my task bar and side bar appeared on screen. :). I was able to do 100% hardware configuration except my cabel modem :(.
It was configured as it was in XP partition, but no way to connect to internet. Still I have to install Whidbey and LH SDK to play around XAML and other stuff.
Hope I could post some LH posts here ;)
May be this is an off-blog topic, but I am sure, this is one of the popular news in India today.
How To: HTTP Compression in IIS 6.0
Source: The .NET Guy’s Web log
“General Network Error. Please check your network documentation”.
I think this is one of the most weird, clue-less error that every typical ADO.NET Developer get.
I get the same error (randomly) with Microsoft Data Access Application Blocks (DAAB 2.0 for .NET 1.1). I found this error is some how realted to the Command execution behavior of DAAB.
I googled for 10 mins, and got redirected to some alien worlds of database issues. The actual fix/work around is related to DAAB's command execution. I made Command.CommandTimeOut = 60 (default is 0). Thats it ! The problem is solved.
I hope this issue is fixed in 3.0, I still need to check the source again.
And the Number One Reply by Programmers when their program doesn't work:
1. "It works on my machine."
Good and worth of reading.
