Successful execution of Multi-threaded comunity practice

MUGH (Microsoft User Group, Hyderabad) has executed this successfully with the help of all core members and Microsoft India. We had executed 3 sessions across the city (Hyderabad, India) at same time in 2 different venues.

IT PRO SIG (IT Proffesional's Special Interest Group) held at IntelliGroup
Notes from Geetesh[MVP] :

First of all, Jaffer introduced the IT PRO concept - and the audience was interested in working more with Office, Windows and Microsoft's other consumer level products. The first presentation on PowerPoint mistakes went exceedingly well and was followed by movies on Longhorn and Office 2003. We had a small discussion on security on the Windows platform - and then the Security CDs that Abhishek sent were distributed.

Finally, we asked the audience about what they wanted to learn in the next meet(s). Several members of the audience assured us that they would spread the word about the timing of the next meet on April 16th, 2004.

DNUG Hyderabad, Students Chapter
We got around 120 students attendance for this meet. Microsoft guys took a session on “Services for Unix” in conjuction with Virtual PC. Students are more impressed by the sessions from M.S.V.Janakiram(Academic Evangelist, MS). Later the Students Academic Software has been distributed along with a copy of .NET U Magazine.

DNUG Developer Meet
The major part of the event, started by 15 minutes delay, but with a large set of professionals and program managers across many companies. This time we have introduced a new system for presentations. We have prepared a pool of presentations prepared well in advance and created an online poll (http://www.mugh.net/poll) to select 3 presentations out of that pool for session. I must say, the credit goes to “Teucer“, our core member and MVP.

The final selection of sessions are

01. Memory Management in MS Sql Server

02. Writing VISIO 2002 addins

03. Evaluating Performance In Web Applications

Interestingly, the topic “C#-Whidbey - part 1“ [my session] has got minumum of votes :).

One more important thing has been introduced to the members in the same session. That is SQLCON.
SQLCON is a special interest group formed to serve the needs of developers in the area of SQL Server 2000 and Yukon.

This group was specially intended to serve SQL server related topics and it will try to detach the SQL stuff from DNUG.

We still have to publicize this group, across MUGH affliated user groups.
