Mobile Phone Makers Change Designs to Combat Theft

This is really a goodinitiative

One of my friend lost his cell phone here in Bangalore. Luckily he had his IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identities) and he called his provider (AirTel in this case) and gave the IMEI number to block it from usage. However, only that provider can block the mobile device. If the stolen device goes to a different provider such as Idea Cell or Hutch, what can a person do? If this kind of cooperation exists in between providers then, stolen phones cannot be used with a different provide.

Again, would this initiative really stop people from stealing cell phones? May be the stolen phones will be used for spare parts. I don’t know!!!

Have you guys looked at this?

Looks like an excellent way to build applications. Building Java, .Net Apps Sans Coding.
