Some rants about ASP.NET by Steven Smith

ASP.NET Developer's Cookbook Released

My new book, the ASP.NET Developer's Cookbook, is now available.  I just checked Amazon and it's still just accepting pre-orders, but I know it's done because I have a copy in my hands!  This book was written as a combined effort between myself, Rob Howard of the ASP.NET Team, and about 20 columnists from ASPAlliance.com.  It contains over 200 task-oriented recipes aimed at solving common problems faced by experienced ASP.NET developers in their day-to-day activities.  Some of the recipes are pretty basic for completeness' sake, but this is not a beginner's book.  It is designed to be a quick reference on your desk, and I hope that many of you will find it useful.

For more information and (soon) sample chapters, check out the book's website at http://aspalliance.com/cookbook/.

Shouldn't that be:

;-)

Congrats, Steve!

Congratulations.

Can you tell us a little about the book or do I have to go to someone else's site? I don't buy from Amazon.

Is this a book for beginners? Gurus? Somewhere in the middle?

Duthie - fixed, thanks.

SirShannon - The title was linked to the book's URL which has more info. I added an explicit link at the bottom of the entry. And just for good measure, I'll add it here, too. Go to www.aspalliance.com/cookbook for more info.

Thanks,
Steve

What do you want to know? It's about 220 common code tasks shown using 'best practice' solutions. The book's examples are in VB but you can download everything in either C# or VB from the book's website, at http://aspalliance.com/cookbook/. That URL also has sample chapters and links to Amazon, which of course has more info on it.
