Things I've learned in the year 2004

1. Why SQL Server Reporting Services doesn't use SQL Server Security.

2. Why Visual Studio Tools for Office Security is such a beast to manage.

3. How to find and enable disabled foreign keys in SQL Server 2k.

4. That the IS_MEMBER() function in SQL Server 2k doesn't work the way you might expect it to.

5. Why you shouldn't create a WebControl that inherits from Table.

What I hope to learn next year:

1. What it's like to work on a well-managed project where the team agrees on and adheres to coding standards, procedures, and methods.

2. What it's like to develop a project using Test Driven Development.

3. What it's like to build an n-tiered application with re-usable components.
