  • ClubStarterKit - where do we go?

Wow, what a year. Not exactly what I'd expected. Before I dive into where we are now, let me preface this post by saying I have NOT forgotten ClubStarterKit! Although I was not the original author, I feel like it's my baby. I can't just forget about it. Not going to happen. You might be quick to point...

  • Oxite - The ASP.NET MVC CMS

The guys over at Channel 9 have created the first blogging engine/content management system (CMS) based on the open source ASP.NET MVC framework. It's named Oxite and is avaliable to download now (in a Alpha version) on the Codeplex website . The first site that's built with it? Mix Online . Nice! Out...

  • The Open Source Projects on ASP.NET MVC

Last night the forehead four head has released the 1st chapter of their upcoming Wrox book along with a sample project NerdDinner and I think this is the best application to check if anyone is trying to lean the new ASP.NET MVC framework. And this is the list of currently available Open Source Projects...

  • Mix: Mobile Web Sites with ASP.NET MVC and the Mobile Browser Definition File

I gave a talk at Mix 09 today called File | New Company: Creating NerdDinner.com with Microsoft ASP.NET MVC . It was a fun, if challenging talk to do. I did it it with no slides at all. Just me and Visual Studio. It was one of two talks at Mix that had just code. I wonder if it'll catch on? ;) Anyway...

  • Open Source License For System.Web.Mvc

First let me begin by assuring you, this is not an April Fool’s joke . Exciting news! Scott Guthrie announced today that we have released the source code for ASP.NET MVC 1.0 under the Ms-PL license , an OSI approved Open Source license with all the rights that license entails. You can download the Ms...

  • ELMAH: Error Logging Modules and Handlers for ASP.NET (and MVC too!)

Joe Lowrance said, er tweeted, it best when he said , "the amount of attention ELMAH hasn't got is shocking." ELMAH is one of those largely unknown and deeply awesome .NET Open Source projects that should be part of ASP.NET proper. What is ELMAH? I like to say that ELMAH is Tivo for your...

  • ASP.NET MVC Samples, Oxite, and Community

I am writing this sitting on a plane between Joburg and Cape Town, on the way to a User Group meeting to talk about ASP.NET MVC. As I said at the Joburg User Group meeting, ASP.NET MVC is young and we (that is, we the community, not just We, the Microsoft) are still learning about what a "pretty"...

  • Introducing Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC

Today, we have released our first public community technology preview of our ASP.NET MVC Extensions. This is a very lightweight framework for developing ASP.NET MVC View Components that we are working for last few months. There are few key points that I like to mention: It is Open Source (dual licensed...
