Dell DJ vs. iPOD - it's more than just technical features

Chris compares the Dell DJ to the iPOD. On paper, there are many advantages the Dell unit has over Apple's (arguably more expensive) player.

Of course, there's a glaring omission in this comparison - physical size. With the Dell, what you gain in technical features you also gain in size.

And contrary to what Chris says, you can definitely charge the iPOD when it is connected to a PC. It charges over FireWire as long as you are using a powered FireWire card. (Many PCMCIA FireWire cards are not powered). Sure, it doesn't seem to charge on USB 2.0, but that's probably why the cable has a second FireWire cable to hook into the AC adapter. (The mini, though, does charge when connected via USB)
