TabletPC advice please

I'm looking to get a TabletPC on salary sacrifice, and I would love to hear some advice from people who have them.

I will be using it to test TabletPC software I write, and will use it as a secondary development PC (though I imagine I'll use an external 17" or 19" display). It would also be nice if I could play some 3D games on it (Toshiba seems to win there!).

I've been looking at the Acer C300 and Toshiba M200. Here's the pros/cons I've come up with from my research so far:

Acer C300 Toshiba M200
PROS
14.1" screen 12.1" screen
DVD/CD-RW 1400 x 1050 resolution
7.5hr battery nVidia GeForce FX Go5200 (32Mb)
CONS
1024 x 768 resolution No CD/DVD drive as standard
Heavy (2.74Kg without DVD or extra battery) 4.5Hr battery

Anyone out there care to give me their advice?

Thanks!

I got an acer 300 - my only issue with it, is that it's like holding an oven. It get's hot fast and just keeps getting hotter. I guess I normally don't clucth onto my notebook, so I'm not sure if it's that normal for laptop's to run at that heat. Anyway a great little machine otherwise.

It's fairly normal for laptops to get a lot hotter then you might expect. Thats why I think the term Laptop is a bit of a misnomer nowadays.

HP terms their high ends (as some other manufacturers do) as "desktop replacements" rather than laptops.

I have the Acer C110, it's a 10.4" screen. I honestly think that's a great size, I use it more because it's more portable. The 12.1" might be good, but I really think the 14" is just too big.

The C110 does get warm, but only when it's running on AC, and especially if it's not on a hard surface like a desk. My girlfriend's (older) Dell gets at least as hot.

I've had my eye on the Toshiba, and if I decide to upgrade (assuming the same tablets on the market when I do), it will probably be with that Toshiba.

I worked with a Motion Computing M1300 last summer - loved it. MC is also the OEM provider for Gateway's TPC. Between the Acer & Toshiba - I'd go with the Toshiba. You don't have to lug the CD/DVD drive all the time and the 4.5hr battery life is quite adequate. The *key* for all counts is to get more RAM - 512mb or more! That'll lessen disk swapping, etc and ease up on battery life, etc.

I am also comparing between them.

Nice thing about the Acer is 11g. Toshiba only has the 11b.

Also the Acer TMC302cMi-G has 1 Mb memory for almost the same price as the Toshiba.

I wonder if the screen resolution is good on the ACER - my only concern
