King's Tea 913 from Ten Ren
I bought this amazing Oolong tea called King's Tea from Ten Ren on Mott St in Chinatown here in New York (their website is http://www.tenrenusa.com, and I seem to have lost the ability to write HTML into my blog). It was pretty expensive, on the order of $4-5 per oz. My girlfriend and I got up early this morning to make some before we went to work and I must say that it's much better than any tea I've ever had before. Let me qualify that by saying that I'm new to the world of tea drinking.
King's Tea comes from the southern part of China and is an oolong tea, which is more processed than green tea but less processed than black tea. King's Tea has some ginseng in, but it's American ginseng so it's safe for young whipper-snappers to drink (Chinese ginseng is bad for you if you're in good health). At work I've got a Lung Ching tea, which is a pure green tea from eastern China. I didn't have to go to Chinatown to get this, we picked some up at the new asian supermarket in Parkchester in the Bronx and it was MUCH cheaper than the King's Tea.
So, that's what I learned about tea today. Let's hope that this doesn't show up on the main page.
