I found the some topic on10, i think its very interesting for developers, The Microsoft Sync Framework is the platform that allows for taking web services and databases offline. It also provides optimized P2P sync for any sort of file, like music, videos, photos, contacts, or settings. With the Sync Framework, developers can add sync support to their applications, services, and devices in order to enable collaboration and offline capabilities. If that's something you're into, you can download the test build of the Sync Framework now and check it out. The Community Technology Preview (CTP) 2 test build of the Microsoft Sync Framework was made available on the

Downloads site on the first day of MIX08. You can also watch a video to see a demo and walkthrough of the key components involved in building an app using Sync.

The Sync Framework works on Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.

For an example of what Sync can do, check out SyncToy 2.0 Beta. SyncToy is a free tool which helps you copy, move, rename, and delete files between folders and computers quickly.

If you work with SQL Server on a regular basis, either writing custom queries, designing databases, or optimizing queries, this is a must see video as it covers a number of the enhancements to SQL Server 2008 including:
- SQL Management Studio improvements including IntelliSense
- New Data Types for just dates or times (no more storing time when you only need the date)
- New Hierarchical data support .IsDescendent(), that can automatically pull a hierarchical view of data (no more custom recursive queries)
- New Grouping Sets statement which enables you to automatically group dimensions in a query for easy aggregation and reporting
- New Merge statement which provides automatic insert/update semantics for keeping multiple data sources in sync
- New FileStream attribute that enables you to include files that are stored in the server file system, but can be managed by SQL Server
- New data types and support for Geodata and geometry
- New support for optimizing "empty" or row/column tables using the sparse keyword

A few weeks ago I talked to you about MSDN Code Gallery and the range of resources available from snippets to SDKs.

To add another resource to enhance your development experience, today we’re launching the Visual Studio Gallery. This site provides a catalog that showcases free and commercial products that complement or extend Visual Studio.

The broad range of solutions you’ll find on the Visual Studio Gallery will give you a sense of the momentum we’re seeing around Visual Studio Extensibility. We have a large and growing group of partners building businesses on the Visual Studio platform, and we have a growing developer community focused on extending Visual Studio to create new tools. For example, a number of in-house developers and enterprise teams are building productivity and methodology tools that are specific to their needs. We’re also seeing a broad uptake of the Visual Studio 2008 Shell which we announced in November.

Visual Studio Extensibility(VSX) is an inclusive set of resources and capabilities for all Visual Studio developers. For example, you might want to install one of the extensions you find on the Visual Studio Gallery -- the easiest way to extend your development experience. Wow, View antique books with Silverlight

Turning the Pages 2.0 is an amazing example of what can be done with WPF and Silverlight. Using a high-end scanning device, the British Library has taken a number of precious books, which you would normally only be able to see under glass, and open to a single page chosen by a curator, and allowed the public to view the entirety of these books, using the familiar notion of turning the pages.

- Diaries of William Searell of Beddgelert (1844-46)

The Silverlight version (above) allows you to choose from 5 of the library's treasures, and flip through them page by page. You can also rotate the book to view illustrations that are printed horizontally, zoom in or out, and move the book for a better view.

The Windows Presentation Foundation version (requires Windows Vista) adds several very cool features, including a magnifier for looking at fine details, and the ability to move the book in three dimensions.

All-in-all a very cool use of technology, and an opportunity to see more of some historic treasures than would ever have been possible without it.

Life At Microsoft - The Truth Revealed - On 10

People often stop me in the streets to ask "Hey Tina, what's life "really" like at Microsoft? Sometimes I can't even walk outside my house without somebody standing there with a giant neon sign that blinks "What is life "really" like at Microsoft"? Instead of answering every individual separately and so you can save your money on those neon signs. I decided to create a video that would answer that simple yet complex question. I want to throw out a special high-five to the following because without them and a lot of beer this video never would have happened.
